St. Angela Merici Parish School follows an age-based technology approach. Classroom technology use is limited in our Early Education Program classrooms (TK & kindergarten) and increases with each grade level until our 1:1 device program begins in 5th grade. While recognizing the benefits technology can bring to education, we believe that younger students thrive academically and socially under traditional teaching methods. SAM's age-based technology approach helps students to master fine motor skills, build strong relationships with their teachers and classmates, develop effective communcations skills, and grow their critical thinking abilities.

Supplemental Technology (TK - 4th grade)
In TK - 4th grade, technology is used as an appropriate and effective method of supplementing and enhancing traditional methods of instruction. Classroom technology is limited in our Early Childhood Program classrooms (TK and kindergarten) and increases with each year.

1:1 Device Program (5th - 8th grade)
Students in 5th - 8th grade participate in a 1:1 device integration program. Each student has his/her own Chromebook which can be used both as school and also for homework assignments. (Fifth grader utilize a class set of Chomebooks.) This program gives teachers the flexibility to utilize a mixture of online and traditional teaching strategies to maximize student learning and engagement. At the same time, students become comfortable utilizing technology in a productive way.
