In accordance with the church’s social teachings and the St. Angela Merici Parish School Student Learning Expectations, all students shall be given the opportunities to provide service within our local community. It is our responsibility to give back to our community with our time and talent to make a difference.
Socktober. Each night in the United States, an estimated 600,000 people live on the streets. This October, we want 2 million people to show that even a small act of love, such as donating a pair of socks, can make a big difference in the lives of our neighbors who are homeless.
November's charity of the month will support our Brea Senior Center. Our students will show off their artistic talents by drawing pictures for our seniors' Thanksgiving feast celebration.
Provide warmth for children in need during the cold winter months. The goal of the Coats for Kids program is to ensure that no child goes without a coat during the winter season.
During the month of January, students will be called to create a short, 30 second video for a patient at St. Jude Hospital. This video will connect our students with those patients, sending them prayers and support as they face unique challenges.
Students will make Valentines cards during class for the people that live at Emerald Cout in Anaheim. This is a retirement/assisted living facility. Thank you 2nd grade for helping with our charity this month!
During the month of March, TK-8th grade students will work with Got Your Back Uganda to send cards to students to Uganda! While working in Uganda, our Kindergarten Teacher, Ms. O'Donoghue started this nonprofit charity which provides student sponsorships for the students to earn an education. Visit: https://www.gotyourbackuganda.com/ for more information about this charity and how you can help.
