I hope this email finds you well and thoroughly enjoying your summer! I am honored to have the opportunity to lead St. Angela Merici Parish school as the newly appointed principal and I look forward to working with parents, students and teachers. I am settling in nicely and spending time with each of the wonderful faculty and staff members, so I can get to know them and learn more about SAM. I feel more and more blessed to be here each day! There are a few items that I really am excited to share with you, so please read this email in its entirety.
Ice Cream Social – August 23rd at 6pm

*The deadline is at 8am and pick up will be at Robin Biederstadt’s home in Brea. Her address can be found on Sycamore or you can text her for her address at 714-803-0918. Please be sure to identify yourself in your text.

Parent Volunteers: Finger Printing, Live Scan, Safe Environment Training
You, the St. Angela parents, are the heart of our community. Parent involvement is very important for our school to succeed and our community to remain strong. Our Catholic values encourage some to embrace leadership on our parent boards while others will participate as supportive committee members, room parents, and volunteers in and out of the classroom.
- Finger printing –We would like to remind you that per Diocesan requirements, volunteers need to be fingerprinted through the Diocese of Orange and must complete the online safe environment training. These requirements must be met prior to any volunteering on campus. You must come to the front office to receive the Live Scan paper work.
- Live Scan –A 3-part authorized Live Scan form will be created from your application and then returned to you along with a list of approved locations to choose from for fingerprinting. Bring the Live Scan form and your driver’s license to the fingerprinting location. NOTE: Fingerprinting approval time will vary. The beginning of the school year is the busiest time with an approximate3-4 week turn-around time.
- Safe Environment Training – While you wait for you fingerprint approval, please complete the online Safe Environment training. https://orange.
cmgconnect.org/. Once completed a copy of your training certificate must be sent to St.Angela Merici Parish School
- ALL Drivers or Chaperones for Field Trips – Please see the attachment for instructions
EVERY family must sign up for 1 assignment. LINK for sign ups
1st-8th Grade students interested in taking AR Tests on books they’ve read this summer may visit SAM the following times:
August 14th at 10am-11am
August 21st at 10am-11am
August 23rd at 5pm-7pm (Open during Ice Cream Social)
School Uniforms – American Casual
American Casual is excited to share they have a slightly new and more comfortable jumper available for our girls. Girls are not required to wear these new jumpers, but they are available for families to purchase either in the store or online. Any online orders placed can be picked up at our Ice Cream Social on August 23 at 6pm.
As dates and important information come up we are diligently adding them to Sycamore. Please take a look at your convenience. The first day of school (August 27) cannot come soon enough, so I can get to know you and your precious children. But, in the meantime enjoy your time together!
