In case you missed our note of gratitude on Julia’s caringbrigde site, we wanted to share this letter with you. We are so blessed that she has been able to return to school this year.
On behalf of our entire family, we would like to thank everyone for your support through Julia’s unexpected illness, treatment, and recovery. This has been an extremely trying time for our family and we truly could not have done it without the loving support of so many people. Amid this hardship, we feel so blessed to be the recipients of such an outpouring of love from our wonderful SAM community.
We especially appreciate all of the prayers on Julia’s behalf. As with most tragedies, we struggle with the question of why this happened. One of our dear friends provided an explanation that has helped us…”There are so many people across the country and around the world talking to God on your behalf now, I am sure that He is pleased with all the people who are turning to Him for help!”
Aside from the prayers that carried us through this difficult time there was so much done for our family that we can never adequately express our heartfelt gratitude; all the various fundraising efforts and donations to help us with our expenses, the rides for our other children, the hot lunches at school, help with meals, countless gift cards for gas and grocery, help with our dog, cleaning our house so we felt comfortable bringing Julia home, hosting Andrew, Kylie, and Tara for playdates, maintaining our yard, organizing prayer services, jamba juice and lunch requests brought to Julia in the hospital, helping with Kylie’s soccer team, the positive words of encouragement left in the caringbridge guestbook, emails and texts sent to us and directly to Jules, and all of the other things that we weren’t even aware of. We never felt like there was a time when we needed something and had no one to ask…and for that, we are so grateful.
We have always believed that God would not give us more than we could handle (sometimes I wish we couldn’t “handle” so much). Thank you all for being the vehicle through which God has granted us the grace to make it through these last several months.
Please know that we thank God for the graces provided through our community and cherish each and every one of you.
