Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. — James 4:7-8
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and St. Angela’s is going to Rise Up!
On two Friday’s this month, October 13th and 20th, students can wear pink accessories if they bring in a $1 or more donation! Students can wear anything from hair bows to bracelets, socks to nail polish; anything that is appropriate and pink. All proceeds will go to the Cancer Research Collaboration.
We will also be putting together Care Bags for cancer patients filled with goodies. We ask that all students bring in an item specific to their grade level by October 20th. Here’s what we are asking classes to bring in:
1st grade: Hand sanitizer
2nd grade: Hard candies (peppermint is the perfect choice)
3rd/4th grade: Sample of unscented hand cream (Eucerin, Aveeno, etc)

A message from our Parish:
Join the St. Angela Merici community for “WelcomeBackSunday”, Saturday and Sunday October 7th and 8th after all the Masses.
Bring a friend and stop by to meet our new priests Fr. Dave and Fr. Francis. Come meet new friends and share a cup of coffee and a donut! Many of our ministries will be on the Plaza to welcome you and answer any questions you may have about what we offer and how you can become involved. Imagine the future if we all rise up together as the community of St. Angela Merici Church and Parish School. See you there!
Mass times: Saturday, 5:00PM, Sunday7:45, 9:30 and 11:15 AM, 12:45PM Spanish and 5:00PM.
October is National Bullying Awareness Month. Our school will be participating by dedicating each week of October to a different aspect of bullying:

Week of October 23rd: Be a Friend Week
Youth Leadership in Action
More information on Bullying Awareness Month to come!
Summerfest needs two parents to take on the role of Summerfest Volunteer Chairs (perk: this counts as your parent job!). There is already a parent handling the online sing-ups and email, so Summerfest is looking for two parents to share duties the weekend of the event, checking in and coordinating volunteer shifts. This job is a great way to meet school families and have a lot of fun!
Please contact Melinda Ganahl with any questions at .
Did you know you can watch our Daily Broadcasts online after they’ve aired? Visit our WEBSITE, and click on the YouTube link in the top left hand corner. You will be taken to our school’s YouTube page where all of our Broadcasts are posted!
Children’s Liturgy is coming back and the Church needs volunteers! Children’s Liturgy of the Word at the 9:30 AM Mass is a dismissal program for school aged children. The children are able to hear the readings from the Children’s Lectionary worded so that they can understand. They will leave Mass right before the first reading and return to Church after the Universal Prayers. This is a great opportunity for adults who wish to share their Catholic faith through the Sunday readings.
Training is available for those who are interested! Contact Debbie Kistler at (714) 743-2978 for more information or stop by their table after 9:30 AM Mass on Welcome Back Sunday.
Save the date! Our 10th Annual Auction Dinner will be held on Saturday, November 4th. This year’s theme is “The Roaring Twenties”.
Volunteers are needed for planning and preparation prior to the event. If you are interested in helping in any way to make this event a success, please attend the planning meeting on Tuesday, September 19th, at 6:30 PM in the Science Lab.
Additionally, Sponsorship Forms for the Auction Dinner are available in the Front Office. This form is for Auction Item Donations and/or Event Sponsorship and Underwriting Opportunities.
