It’s that time again! There will be a Nacho Sale held during snack tomorrow. Send your child with money tomorrow so they can purchase a delicious cheesy snack! If your student does purchase something, they will be given a raffle ticket that is going to be placed in a drawing to see which class will receive the funds from the Nacho Sale. The following is a list of what will be on sale:


  • Nachos…………………………. $3.00
  • Chips (no cheese)………….. $2.50
  • Extra Cheese…………………. $0.50
  • Drink……………………………. $1.00

January 29th marks the beginning of Catholic Schools Week, a weeklong event that celebrates Catholic education in the United States. We have a very exciting week prepared for our school community! Before we fully reveal what the week will entail, we invite you to particpate in the following preparation and events to ensure the success of this fun-filled week. Thank you for your continued support!

Each month, our school and parish come together to celebrate as one community in Christ. We invite everyone to this wonderful 9:30 AM Parish School celebration. All families are invtied to participate in the Eucharist. Sign up HERE to sing in our choir, serve as ushers and greeters, read as a lector, help with the gifts and speak about our school. We ask all students to wear their formal attire for this Open House Eucharist to show their support for Catholic School Education. Thank you and we look forward to seeing everyone at the 9:30 AM Eucharist!

In the Front Office, we have Open House flyers and we request your help in distributing them! If you have any great ideas on where to hand out these flyers, please stop by and let us know. We will give you a stack of Open House flyers to pass out.

On Thursday, February 3rd, we will be having a Career Day. To help inspire our students in discovering what they want to be when they grow up, we are asking parents (or family friends) to visit our TK – 8th Grade classrooms and briefly share about their careers.


 

If you are interested, please email Mrs. Halliday with the following information:


– Your Name

– Your Occupation

– Three to five facts about your career

 

– The classes you would like to present in (*It does not have to be the class that your child is in)

Your St. Angela Merici child would like to honor the Dad or fatherly figure in their life by inviting you to our annual Donuts with Dad! On Friday, February 3rd, dads are invited to spend time with their child before school starts and have a few special moments as your they thank you for being the incredible father that you are! We will be hosting Donuts with Dad in the Parish Hall from 7:20 to 8:00 AM. Please arrive on time as this event will conclude as soon as school begins at 8:00 AM.

Our Extended Care Program provides our students with wonderful before and after school activities. We are very excited to announce the next program they are bringing to our students: Engineering for Kids!


This seven week program will introduce Kindergarten through Sixth Grade students to the world of Environmental Engineering, a growing field that investigates and solves some of the world’s biggest environmental problems. The first session will be held on January 23rd. For more information or sign up your child, pick up a flyer in the Front Office or visit the Extended Care tab of Documents on Sycamore!

Yesterday’s Spelling Bee was incredible; after intense competition and impressive spelling, Sixth Grader Chrysanne defeated eight of her opponents to take First Place! She will be advancing to the next round on February 21st; we wish Chrysanne the best of luck in the Orange County Spelling Bee!

Z. Cougar News/City of Brea Parade needs your help!.png

 

The City of Brea Parade is coming on

Sunday, February 18th, and Brea needs your help.


We are asking for a group of parents to volunteer their time. You can either help lead the students in the parade or sell snow cones at the Sports Park.


Here’s a brief look into what the day will entail: 


10:00 AM – Community Parade

A celebratory procession down Birch Street from the Birch Hills Golf Course to the Sports Park. Expect a few surprises!


11:00 AM – Picnis at the Sports Park

Enjoy food, entertainment, games and community fun.


A meeting will be held on Thursday, January 26th, in the Science Lab to discuss the Parade. We are looking for ideas, volunteers and much more!
