Blessing of the Animals- 8:45

St. Angela Merici Parish School will be having its annual Blessing of the Animals to celebrate the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. We invite parents to bring their friendly animals to have them blessed!

The Green Team will be asking for dollar donations for Best Friends: Save Them All, a nonprofit orginization that is combatting the euthanization of shelter animals. Best Friends has a vast, beautiful Sanctuary of over twenty thousand acres that is home to nearly two thousand rescued animals of all species. Best Friends provides a scenic, healing environment where rescues live among animal and human friends, getting the love, care, and medical attention they need. In addition, this orginization works tirelessly to research and find forever homes for their rescues. This is a truly remarkable organization; to learn more about them, visit their website!

The Blessing of the Animals will be taking place on the blacktop. There will be a great photo opportunity to have a picture of you and your pet taken in front of the SAM Banner! Also, we will be providing treats for our K9 companions.

Emergency Bags Due

St. Angela Merici Parish School is taking the appropriate precautions to keep our students safe if an emergency situation were to occur. In this safety plan, we are asking that each child turn in an emergency kit. An emergency kit is a one-gallon, plastic Ziploc bag that will be stored in our emergency shed and used in the event of a natural disaster. All emergency kits are due to your child’s classroom teacher by FridayOctober 7th.

Emergency kits should be personal to your child and include the following:

  • 16 oz. of water
  • Non-perishable food (granola bar, mini box of cereal, crackers, fruit snacks, power bar, etc.)

Please use a permanent marker to clearly write your child’s first and last name on the bag.
