Take a moment to think of how many people you personally know who have a history of breast cancer; think again of how many people you know whose mother, daughter, sister, wife, or friend has battled it; how many women would that be? Statisically speaking, everyone knows at least one woman who has had breast cancer. In 2016 alone, over 2.8 million women living in the United States have been afflicted by it.

This is why the month of October is dedicated to raising awareness of breast cancer and working together as a nation to bring an end to this disease.  St. Angela Merici Parish School is doing its part by dedicating our Charity of the Month to breast cancer patients, and we invite  our students and families participate with us!

On every Friday of this month, have your child bring in a $1 donation and they can wear pink accessories! Your student can wear anything from bows and ribbons to nail polish and socks, as long as it is PINK! We encourage everyone to participate. All proceeds raised will be going to the Cancer Research Collaboration to find a cure that will elimate cancer.

We will also be creating Care Bags for women undergoing breast cancer treatment and we ask that each student bring in an item to contribute. All items are due tomorrowOctober 14th

St. Angela Merici Parish School is now offering classes in Environmental and Electrical Engineering! This exciting new program is 8 weeks long and classes are held on Monday afternoons, from 3:00 – 4:00 PM. Students from Kindergarten through 8th Grade are welcome to join.

The electrical engineering program is designed to introduce students to the concepts of circuit design, building, and maintenance through various hands-on activities. Students will walk away with an in-depth knowledge on basic circuits. The environmental engineering program is designed to introduce students to the concepts of green engineering and provide them with a new approach to the Engineering Design Process that adds constraints such as sustainability, durability, and environmental permanence to the equation.

Do not miss out on having your child participate in this exciting opportunity! Class sizes are limited to only 20 students, so sign up soon! The first class will be held on Monday, October 17th. Please come to the front office for the registration flyer and turn it into Extended Care.
