1. Auction Dinner Dance- Invitations were mailed out last week. Remember…ALL famiies must EITHER purchase a pair of tickets and attend (or get a person to fill the seat) OR provide an auction item valued at $400.00 or more. Auction items provided by school families are not tax deductable. RSVP now!!!
2. Sycamore- Great job parents. We are able to run reports for student/parent log ins and we are very happy to see more than 95% of our parents are always checking Sycamore for updates!!!
2. Great California Shake Out- THIS Thursday!!!
Saint Angela Merici Parish School will be participating in the Great California Shake Out on Thursday, October 17th at 10:17am. This is an opportunity for our staff and students to practice emergency drills. All students will participate in the earthquake drill practicing the best way to be safe if an earthquake happens during school. Students will “Drop, Cover and Hold on” in their classrooms and then evacuate to the field.
This year we would like each student to bring in an Emergency Pack. These packs will be stored in SAM’s emergency shed for the 2013-2014 school year. Each pack should include non-perishable snacks and a bottle of water. Items will need to be placed into a gallon sized Ziploc bag and be labeled with the student’s name and grade.
Here are some examples:
- Granola bars
- Protein bars
- Nuts (check expiration date)
- Dried fruit
- Cereal or granola
Other items to consider:
- Photo of family
- Letter from mom or dad
These emergency packs are meant to be personalized to your child’s needs. We encourage you to work together in creating these packs. This is also a great opportunity to talk about your emergency plans at home. Student’s emergency packs will be due on The Great California Shake Out, October 17th. At the end of the school year students will bring home their emergency packs.
